Vickie Bruce - JessVickie studied Performing Arts at Whitehall Stage School and gained a LAMDA Gold Medal in Acting. Since leaving college she has worked as a dancer for Haven Holidays in the UK, then progressed to working as Dance Captain and Entertainments Manager in large 4 star hotel chains in Europe. Vickie fulfilled a lifelong ambition to perform on the West End by dancing in 'Sunday Night Live at the Palladium' in 2001. Secret Thoughts of Angels is Vickie's film debut.

Ben Shockley - Dr CrabtreeBen trained at 'The Leas Pavilion Theatre', in Folkestone, Kent and is a co-member of 'Rogues' Yarn Theatre Company'. (Formerly Mad Moles). His theatre credits include: Kurtz in 'Heart of Darkness' (King's Head), Macduff in 'Macbeth' (UK Tour), as well as appearances as Artie along-side Andy Serkis, David Tennant, Rupert Graves and Jenny Seagrove in the Sir Peter Hall/Old Vic Production of 'Hurly Burly' (Produced by Bill Kenwright at The Queen's Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue). He understudied for Mark Benton and Andy Serkis. TV credits include roles in: 'Journey's End' (BBC), 'The Bill (Thames). and 'Crime Monthly' (LWT). As well as 'Secret Thoughts of Angels', short films include: 'Ex Libris', recently screened on Sky, 'Reckoning' (Dark Light/Channel 4) with Kate Hardie, based on Ben's own stage play 'The Kiss Of Death' (White Bear),' The Anniversary' (Produced by Treva Etienne) and 'King of London', soon to be screened at the NFT. His feature film work includes roles in 'Written in Blood' (recently shown on sky and available on DVD) and 'Left For Dead' (available on DVD and soon to be shown on sky). He has played lead roles in 'Bloodmyth' (In Post) and 'Greetings', Directed by Ken (Admiral Piett) Colley. (In Post) Ben recently wrote a stage adaptation of 'The Beguiled' (which was a 1970 movie starring Clint Eastwood). He has other lead roles coming up in two more features. 'Wedding Ensemble' (In Production) and 'Fixers', with other features to follow. Ben can currently be seen on the Web in the BANNED 'X Box 360 advert' called 'Stand-off'. Louise Vreony - AliceLouise studied at the London Academy of Radio, Film and Television and also holds a BA Hons in English Literature and Language. She has written and directed several award winning short plays for stage and radio and will branch out into documentary this year as she films a diary of her experiences self-building her home in Cyprus. Although 'Secret Thoughts of Angels' is Louise's first short film, she played a reporter in the feature film, "Bring Me The Head of Mavis Davis" (BBC/Goldcrest). Theatre credits include Ruby in "Ruby's Flutter" (UCN), Nurse in "Romeo and Juliet" (RUDS), and Nanette in the FHODS production of "No, No, Nanette" at The Little Theatre, Sandgate. TV credits include Jamie Ray in the BBC Docudrama, "Trail of Guilt," a salsa dancer in "The Last Detective" (Meridian/United), Mary in "Lady Audley's Secret" (Warner Sisters) and most recently, a flatulent yoga-goer, directed by Ben Elton in "Blessed" (Phil McIntyre TV). She has also appeared in Eastenders, My Hero, Family Affairs and The Bill. She has worked in voiceover (partymob.com and CLR) and has acted in various advertsements, including "Fit for the Future" (pretty Clever Pictures). Her performance in the game show "Men In Frocks" (September Films) in notable - as part of an ID parade made entirely as folks dressed as nuns, Louise was picked out as a man! John Powell - Mr WiddershinsIn a case of genius casting, John is in fact a bookshop manager and runs the very bookshop in which he appears in the short. John's previous screen appearances have been as an extra in various films, including Mel Gibson's Hamlet. |
